dvds, pingpong, and taichi

Yesterday we made a new friend at a bank of all places. We were all sitting at the bank because some of us wanted to change some money. So we were just joking around talking about crap, when we noticed that there was a chinese girl standing next to Jerome and she was just smiling the whole time. I mentioned to kaiwen that that girl was kind of freaky, and that prompted Kate to ask if she understood what we were talking about, and whether she thought we were wierd. She said yes to both. We then started talking more and decided to have lunch together. She was so happy to meet us. And said it was one of the happiest days of her life? She wrote her name for us, 李林国, Linguo Li I was surprised because that was the first name that we could all read completely.

Ya I think I've so far spent most of my moneys on DVDs. I also bought 3 ping pong rackets today. One of them smells like fish sauce?!? It was the good quality one as well bah~~ Today the class for taichi shrunk from 27 to 4 students. And today was the day that the teacher wanted to teach us some crazy kicking move.

Well someone just told me that customs will have fun when i bring all of this back. What do I do?!?!

Tommorow we will go to Zhongzhuo (i thinks) And it's suppose to be a water city with lots of water ways and whatnots. I gotta take lots of pics. Well I should get back to studying.

More on china

Some things i didn't mention before, we set up a ping pong table in Kevin aka Kaiwen Baihou's room. What we did was move his wardrobe...er that dresser thing, so that it is flat on it's side. And used it as a ping pong.

Well one thing to note is that whenever we go out to eat with the teacher we eat so much, when you're full, more food keeps coming!! Thats crazy. Today we went to eat Szchezuan food and i was getting full and they kept bringing more! Oh well the price ended up being like 140 yuan and that fed 10 people. So if you convert that it's about $23 CAD. I'm loving this cheap food.

Yesterday night we went to see the opera. Pretty crazy, and pretty long~~~~. It took maybe 3 hours? But it was an interesting story about a woman who fell in love while she was a sleep and died in her sleep. And later she comes back as a ghost and meets the man who was in her dream. It was pretty funny cuz the man fell in love with her as well because he had also dreamed of her. He ends up going to the place that she was buried, and finds a picture of her. And obsesses over it. It was pretty funny...but long~~~

Sorry no pictures, it's still impossible to set up the internet on res. It should be up by monday or tuesday night.

Well i'm off...

First Week in China

Wow it's been a crazy week. Hmm lets start with the plane ride. Very very long and you really cant sleep. The trip to Vancouver felt long but that was only...3~4 hours? Then when we reached Vancouver we had to rush to the next flight and sit for 12 hours? So painful, your legs can't get into a decent position. But on that flight I did sit next to a nice girl from Shanghai who didnt mind telling me where to go and helped me a little with chinese. (Don't worry sweety, she was older and I was always thinking of you =P) That flight was unbelievably long and I couldnt sleep till the last hour. I finally found out how to sleep. You have to put down your little eating tray and lay face down. I had a good 1 hour nap till they slammed a cup of noodles next to me to wake me up. Damn you !!

Anyways, res is pretty good. Normal room, with a TV, ac...(was broken but finally got it fixed today..one week later), and a normal toilet. What I mean by normal is not a troph. To use the washroom in the school, you piss on the wall into a troph. It's so nasty!! And on top of that there is a mop there. I think you're suppose to do something with it but i dont dare try.

We had a trip to Suzhou. So pretty. We went to Tiger Hill. Saw lots of things. Like a rock that was used for testing a sword. It was split open, and some people said that the monkey king may of came from it? Then there was a giant pagoda. Lots of pictures. Lots of fun. Next we went to a tea place. Pretty cool they showed us how to serve tea and stuff. I got suckered into buying some hehe. The next place was called the Humble Administrator's Garden. It was huge. I wish that I had a back yard like that! I took lots of pictures so I wil have to post them sometime when i get the chance.

There have been lots of crazy things happening here. Mostly silly. Like one of my friend's being offered a baby by some old lady. We didnt know if she was joking. But that baby was cute. The pants have a hole in the back, so you can see their butt haha. That means when they crap, it just goes out the back.

Anyways gonna go back to get some lunch now...i should write all this down.

A few extra stuff to add..
~taichi every week after classes
~Someone we named mafan is so mafan.
~Well I bought a cheap ping pong paddle haha, and we set up ping pong in bai huo's room.
